Dr. Ellis is the Senior Technology Leader of the polymers group at EWI. He is responsible for steering EWI’s plastics technology roadmap, developing strategies for external engagements, innovating new polymer technologies through internal research and development, and ensuring high technical quality of proposals and reports for customer projects.
Dr. Ellis has been studying the molecular interactions of thermoplastics and thermosets with their surrounding environment since 2004. For the latter half of his career, his focus has been using process, structure, and exposure properties to determine long term properties of polymeric products in different environments. During this time, he has consulted for many Fortune 500 companies in health care, consumer products, military, and automotive. Many of these projects used his expertise in polymer processing, characterization, selection, joining, testing, degradation, aging, and failure analysis with solutions implementation. He has helped clients develop and manufacture a wide range of robust and reliable products.
